WHY MUST WE BE PARTED??

It’s all in the details - 0.03mm is the width of a single lash extension (there are multiple but this is my personal favorite). With a single, straight-edge, diamond-tip tweezer – a fan is created. A WHAT?! Imagine a hot southern day...iced cold lemonade in one hand and a fan in the other.  Now imagine that this fan consists of 10-20, 0.03mm lash extensions. Very creepy image, but you get the point. Every fan is unique because every fan is handcrafted in less than 30 seconds.

Next, the opposite hand has a tweezer with a slightly curved tip; this tweezer is the isolator.  Imagine being forced to be alone because there is a virus running rampant throughout the world…hard to imagine, right? The natural lash needs to be so isolated that it must be that the surrounding lashes are infected. With a quick dip in adhesive, the fan is then placed on that isolated natural lash – close enough to the lash line, yet far enough away to maintain social distancing. Then...REPEAT. On average, we have roughly 90-150 natural lashes PER EYE. My goal is to achieve as close to 100% coverage as the natural lashes and time will safely allow.

Okay, now our lashes have a growth cycle. They all are growing at different paces over 4-6 weeks (“they come, they eat, they leave!” WHO KNOWS THE REFERENCE?!) The extensions go on that journey with them – the journey of shedding. The goodbyes are always the hardest.  BUT WAIT! The goodbyes mean you get to say “hello” to me! YAY!!

Several people have asked me, “How on earth do you have the patience for this??”. Great question. The only answer I can give is, “I just love it so much!”. I love lashing. I love creating a unique experience for every client. I do not love the back pain and hand cramping, but the client’s reaction makes it all worth it.

Alright, now to get to the point. The quarantine. Lash ladies, I promise this is hurting me just as much, if not more, than it's hurting you. Seeing my painstaking work literally go down the drain is heartbreaking. So, I would like to ask a favor. If you would like to continue with lashes after this is all over, please be sweet to your natural lashes! Take this time of not having to go out or be seen in public, to let the extensions naturally shed. Let your natural lashes breathe!! Just like our head hair, our lashes need moisture and hydration. Mascara sucks all of that right out and dries them, making them brittle and more prone to breakage. Growth serums may give you faster results, but in the long run, they aren’t providing a healthier lash. There are some lash serums that are specifically designed to provide nutrition to your lashes – I will be doing some research on the best ones.

Believe me, I would love to start the first underground railroad of lashing. BUT, your health and safety are more important than anything! Get excited for your next set of lashes, because that’s what I am doing! Thank you for your constant support and encouragement. I cannot express the amount of love I have for my fearless. Murderinos! Xoxo…for now!
